Funding possibilities.

Limited funds also limit the opportunity to support a large number of organisations all over the world. Monitoring and evaluation of projects in so many different countries and contexts is relatively expensive, and providing a large number of smaller projects with expensive monitoring capacity simply would not be very efficient.

Aids Fonds therefore has strategic partnerships with umbrella bodies such as the HIV Collaborative Fund for HIV Treatment Preparedness and the MSM Initiative. These funding mechanisms — hosted by the Tides Foundation and the American Foundation for AIDS Research (AmfAR), respectively — enable Aids Fonds to support community organisations it could not otherwise reach.

Both the HIV Collaborative Fund and the MSM Initiative organise the grant making process consisting of the selection of priorities in a certain region, regional calls for proposals, selection of proposals, monitoring and evaluation as well as technical support to projects.
